The sunshine was an inspiration this past Sunday, along with all of our new friends at The Red Victorian. Our topic for the breakfast conversation this past Sunday was..
Who or what inspires you to feel that this world is shifting to a better one?
Michelle, a local San Franciscan, shared that she is currently taking a Human Nature class which has taught her many things about the environment. Eventually she wants to open a non-profit childcare center where she can teach young people to be peaceful and conscious.
Nick, another local, shared that his Dad has always taught him to be a good person and treat others respectfully.
Laurie shared that her friend Zara inspires her. With ten percent of the youth in Marin (one of the wealthiest counties in the world) being homeless, Zara helps young people in Marin County get through school, find places to live, get medical care, and she helps them find jobs. She has helped over 950 kids so far.
Nic, another local, shared that he has been inspired through Holistic Healing. He is learning Reiki and has started a meditation circle at San Francisco State University.
Random, another new, local friend, told us he is interested in creating spaces for community. He also intervenes when he sees people doing destructive things, like fighting or vandalism.
Carla just moved to South of San Francisco from the Pacific NorthWest. She shared with us that her daughter has ben suffering from a brain injury for the past two years. Even though her daughter is constantly in pain from head to toe she is always positive and telling her mom that everything will be okay, and that God has a bigger plan for all of them.
Kat was visiting us from San Luis Obispo, and she told us that her father has been unavailable to her for a long time now. Kat is realizing that 2012 specifically, is a huge time of change for her life. With all she has been through she has been opened to the idea of creating sanctuaries for people to be together, be loved, and be creative.
I shared that acro-yoga and fire spinning have inspired me that a better world is on the way. With these two activities I am doing things I never thought I would. Pushing my own limit is opening me up to the possibilities of other things I can't even imagine yet!
Our conversations are always influential to me. When people can share themselves and their ideas it creates an open space for me to share more of myself.. We are not alone, and I am seeing that the more I share myself, the more I see commonalities with other souls. Come share yourself at the Red Vic :)
