Volunteer Opportunities

Calling All Hosts!

Come and meet people from all over the world in a casual conversation setting! Get to know your neighbors and fellow members of the global community at small, informal conversations.

We are looking for passionate, social individuals that are dedicated to creating a more peaceful world. Volunteers will act as Hosts for 90 minute, small-group conversations at the Peaceful World Center at the Red Vic on Haight Street in San Francisco.

The Peaceful World Conversation program was created to enhance opportunities for people to interact with each other and develop peace-based attitudes towards other perspectives, cultures and ideas. Conversations are about sharing personal experience, not specific themes. It is not every day that we have the occasion to share ourselves in a safe, casual environment. By engaging others in conversation, we develop a sense of empathy and understanding. This is where peace amongst people begins.

When we share our personal experiences, conversations often organically shift into focusing on the inspiring actions and moments in our lives. Through sharing our realities, we can and will empower each other to take action. Simply, people inspire each other.

Hosts have the opportunity to act as a bridge between the diverse and dynamic individuals that come together to share themselves at a world conversation table. Hosting is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in developing their leadership and public speaking skills, and in networking on a local and international level.

Volunteer Hosts will be expected to attend 2 breakfast conversations and a one-hour training with our founder, Sami Sunchild. After this training period, they will be invited to host conversations at times that fit their schedule.
